I present to you HR3596 The Center Worker and Consumer Protection Act:

I don't know how a politician was able to come up with something so perfectly reasonable, but the fact that it is reasonable probably explains why it hasn't been passed yet.
For those 2 LAZY to click the link and read this bill among others things would do 2 things I think 99.99% of all AMERICANS would agree with:
- Require a call center person to reveal their physical location. For example they would have to say this is John Smith call from Bangladesh.
- Give you the option of requesting you call to be transferred to to a customer service agent who is physically located in the United States.
And if that wasn't enough it also has some stipulations that would prevent companies who relocate their call centers to overseas locations from getting tax payer money.
Sign me up. I've already email my congressman supporting this wonderfully logical idea and encourage you my savvy readers to do likewise.
Oh here is a link for people to be able to email your congressional leaders. You have to make an account, but then you can email them about all types of things.
