Good Call Centers?

So surprise surprise we're back in session so soon. It's about to get real in here.
After the previous post's anti-government rant I decided I need to be fair to the wonderful crooked swindlers who are our bought elected leaders.
I present to you HR3596 The Center Worker and Consumer Protection Act:
http://grimm.house.gov/press-release/rep-grimm-cospnsors-us-call-center-worker-and-consumer-protection-act-hr-3596
I don't know how a politician was able to come up with something so perfectly reasonable, but the fact that it is reasonable probably explains why it hasn't been passed yet.
For those 2 LAZY to click the link and read this bill among others things would do 2 things I think 99.99% of all AMERICANS would agree with:
  1. Require a call center person to reveal their physical location. For example they would have to say this is John Smith call from Bangladesh.
  2. Give you the option of requesting you call to be transferred to to a customer service agent who is physically located in the United States.
AWESOME!
And if that wasn't enough it also has some stipulations that would prevent companies who relocate their call centers to overseas locations from getting tax payer money.
Sign me up. I've already email my congressman supporting this wonderfully logical idea and encourage you my savvy readers to do likewise.

Oh here is a link for people to be able to email your congressional leaders. You have to make an account, but then you can email them about all types of things.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

So I read this article on FOX News. (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/02/14/preschoolers-homemade-lunch-replaced-with-nuggets/) Now I know all you crazy liberal idealists believe anything Fox reports is rubbish, but facts or facts and these are the facts:
  1. The U.S. Department of Agriculture evidently has "guidelines" that dictate what is acceptable for kids to eat. (Great waste of tax money there)
  2. A child brought to lunch a turkey and cheese sandwich, a banana, apple juice, and potato chips.
  3. Our wonderful government official determined that this was not "healthy" enough and forced the child to have a school lunch of chicken nuggets and some other crappy school food (which the child didn't really eat anyway).
  4. The parent was charge $1.25 for the process chicken nuggets and other crap that their child did not eat.
Crap like this just pisses me off. What the hell we have all types of financial problems and our government is spending money on turkey-liver crap like this? I don't need some idiotic loser of a government worker inspecting kids lunches to see if they approve of it. Come on!

Charlie Sheen For President

Seriously this guy is the a mega-tool, but he's got one thing right that needs to be the message from government: WINNING!

I'm so sick of school and "politically correct" society trying to spare everyone's hurt feelings by having everybody win. Are you kidding me??? No wonder America is starting to suck. If our kids participate in a science fair they learn if you work hard and put a lot of effort and time into their project they did just as a good of a job as the other kid who put some boogers and ear wax in a jar and put it under a neon light. Seriously.... I'm not advocating for my kid to win, I'm advocating for him/her to see that someone wins, and to recognize the need to work towards that goal. Off course we should be surprised that students are being taught this since evidently the concept of "merit" being applied to teachers is as heinous as a gay pope, but what do I know I'm just a hard working fat man trying to get by in the country that believes you don't need to plant seeds or weed a garden in order to harvest your Pace picante suace.

Charlie Sheen might be the biggest bonehead in the last 35 years, but his "WINNING" message could go a long way towards improving America.

AWOL Politicians

So in my infinite wisdom I've decided to post on how to fix the problem of these Midwest politicians hiding out instead of doing their jobs. It's quite simple really...

What happens if you or I don't show up to do our job? Well I'm sure we all have some type of sick/vacation days, so I say start making the bums use their alloted days for not showing up for work and when those are gone they get fired - just like everyone else would. If the bums get fired their seats are up for special elections or appointment whatever their state laws say. Then the state governments can get back to work with out these losers hiding out while taking money from tax payers.

I Love Australia!

Maybe I need to move to the land-down-under. I'd love to have a major politicial figure in the United State's come out and say this type of thing, but they'll never do it.

Anyway, I got this emailed to me, and I really liked it, so I'm posting it on the blog!

According to the email this was said by Australia's Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.

This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!

Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.

This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted..

ROCK ON!

Illegal is Illegal Right?

So it's been forever-and-day since I've made a new post.  I'll be honest I just haven't had the burning desire to post something all controversial like, nor to post some blah-blah-blah random thing.  However, Lori, aka the dirty noodle, has bribed me, and nothing moves me to action quite like the all mighty dollar (or in this case the all might spare change in Lori's car Weasley).  So, for the question....

I've considered posting comparing homosexuals to child-molesters.  I also consider posting about fetal homicide and abortion.  In the end I decided those were posts for other days.  This post is going to be about 287G.  I'm not sure if that's a NC only name for it or not, but basically 287G is a program that the police use that involves holding illegal aliens in jail until INS comes to deport them.  In a nut shell how it works is when the police stop you for a ticket, or a crime, or something else where you broke the law, they check you immigration status.  If you aren't a legal resident they hold you in the jail to deport you.

When I first heard about this I thought it was great.  ILLEGAL aliens are breaking the law after all, so why not let the police enforce the LAW.  I had no idea that this would be controversial, but it's turned out to be quite controversial.  I just don't understand how people could argue with this program.  Here's arguments I've heard against it:

  • It breaks up families.  This is a load of crap.  First, the law breaks up families all the time. There are tons of people in prison right now, but do we let out the murderers and rapists because having them incarcerated breaks up families?  Also, deporting an illegal alien doesn't break up a family - the rest of the family could choose to go back to their country if they wanted to.  I'm not saying families don't get broken up by this law, just that the law is not the proximate cause.
  • People say it encourages racial profiling.  That's might be true, but where are all the illegal aliens coming from?  I don't know the percentages but if 10% of our Hispanic population is illegal, it's hardly unreasonable to check their immigration status when the police are already involved with them for having committed another crime.  However this could be addressed by having the police check the immigration status of EVERYONE, not just Hispanic people, if they are not already doing it.

I don't understand the liberal hippies that oppose this.  These people are breaking the law, hence them being ILLEGAL aliens.  What's the problem with LAW ENFORCEMENT ENFORCING the law!

What Song Embodies Rock and Roll?

While driving around this weekend, listening to music, I had a realization. I love the song, Who Do You Love? by George Thorogood, because it is the embodiment of rock and roll to me. Here's a link for a TINY sample of it from amazon, link. It's number 2 on the list, and it really doesn't do it justice. It's totally worth the 99cent download from Itunes, but I am biased. And, yes, I know that this is originally a Bo Diddley song, and that it's been covered by an army of other musicians, some of whom are arguably more famous/successful that George Thorogood, but that doesn't change anything for me. For me, this song is what Rock and Roll is all about, and here are my reasons:
  1. It totally has a Bluesy feel, but it has the more aggressive rock feel too. An old school blues artist said something to the effect that the Blues had a baby and called it Rock and Roll. To me, a legit Rock song needs some a little Blues.
  2. Not only does it have the "Bo Diddley beat," but he actually comes out and says that he's got the Bo Diddley beat. Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry were more influential to the development of Rock and Roll than Elvis, even though they don't get the mad props that Elvis does. (If you don't know what the "Bo Diddley beat" is, you need to look it up.)
  3. Chuck Berry, aside from being an amazing guitarist and a crafty lyricist, was able to produces songs that appealed to the youth of America. George Thorogood performs Who Do You Love? with that same rebel reckless abandon that embodies Rock and Roll, like when he says, "just 22 baby I don't mind dying." It's what Rock is all about.
Agree? Disagree? Think a different song better fits what Rock and Roll is all about? Let me know, but back up your song choice with some legitimate reasons.
