Good Call Centers?

So surprise surprise we're back in session so soon. It's about to get real in here.
After the previous post's anti-government rant I decided I need to be fair to the wonderful crooked swindlers who are our bought elected leaders.
I present to you HR3596 The Center Worker and Consumer Protection Act:
http://grimm.house.gov/press-release/rep-grimm-cospnsors-us-call-center-worker-and-consumer-protection-act-hr-3596
I don't know how a politician was able to come up with something so perfectly reasonable, but the fact that it is reasonable probably explains why it hasn't been passed yet.
For those 2 LAZY to click the link and read this bill among others things would do 2 things I think 99.99% of all AMERICANS would agree with:
  1. Require a call center person to reveal their physical location. For example they would have to say this is John Smith call from Bangladesh.
  2. Give you the option of requesting you call to be transferred to to a customer service agent who is physically located in the United States.
AWESOME!
And if that wasn't enough it also has some stipulations that would prevent companies who relocate their call centers to overseas locations from getting tax payer money.
Sign me up. I've already email my congressman supporting this wonderfully logical idea and encourage you my savvy readers to do likewise.

Oh here is a link for people to be able to email your congressional leaders. You have to make an account, but then you can email them about all types of things.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

So I read this article on FOX News. (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/02/14/preschoolers-homemade-lunch-replaced-with-nuggets/) Now I know all you crazy liberal idealists believe anything Fox reports is rubbish, but facts or facts and these are the facts:
  1. The U.S. Department of Agriculture evidently has "guidelines" that dictate what is acceptable for kids to eat. (Great waste of tax money there)
  2. A child brought to lunch a turkey and cheese sandwich, a banana, apple juice, and potato chips.
  3. Our wonderful government official determined that this was not "healthy" enough and forced the child to have a school lunch of chicken nuggets and some other crappy school food (which the child didn't really eat anyway).
  4. The parent was charge $1.25 for the process chicken nuggets and other crap that their child did not eat.
Crap like this just pisses me off. What the hell we have all types of financial problems and our government is spending money on turkey-liver crap like this? I don't need some idiotic loser of a government worker inspecting kids lunches to see if they approve of it. Come on!
